Most yards just sit there. They look fine, but they don't actually get used. This homeowner wanted something different - a backyard built around enjoying time outside, whether that's a quick putting session after work or a well-lit front exterior that looks sharp after dark.

We installed a custom putting green with a natural, flowing shape that fits right into the existing landscape. It sits cleanly off the paver patio and blends into the surrounding plantings without looking forced or out of place. The surface itself plays well too - multiple cup locations so you can actually practice different shots, not just roll a ball back and forth.

The lighting side of this job was just as important. A good landscape lighting system isn't just about aesthetics. It's about making the whole property feel finished. We ran fixtures along the front of the home to highlight the architecture, uplit the mature trees in the yard, and lined the front garden beds to add depth. The difference between a dark house and a properly lit one at night is pretty dramatic.

What ties everything together is how well the two sides of this job complement each other. The putting green gives the backyard a purpose. The lighting makes the whole property inviting around the clock. That's really what great landscape installation comes down to - making sure every element works together, not just on its own.

A yard like this doesn't happen by accident. It takes real planning, careful installation, and knowing how to make features feel like they belong rather than like they were just dropped in. That's what we aim for on every job we take on.
