Some lawns just can't be patched up. They need a full reset - old grass out, fresh soil in, and a clean start. That's exactly what we did here in Farmington Hills.

We stripped everything down to bare dirt first. Then we brought in fresh topsoil and graded the entire front yard properly before a single roll of sod went down. That grading step is the one most people skip, and it's also the reason so many sod jobs fail. Water needs somewhere to go. If the grade is off, you end up with soggy low spots, dead patches, and a lawn that never quite looks right.

Once the ground was prepped and smooth, we started laying sod row by row - tight seams, good contact with the soil, and clean edges along the driveway and sidewalk. That attention to the prep work is what gives new sod its best shot at rooting in strong and staying healthy long-term.

The finished yard speaks for itself. Dense, even, green turf running curb to driveway with crisp edges all the way around. The kind of front lawn that actually matches the house.

If your yard is past the point of patching and just needs a proper do-over, this is how we handle it - no shortcuts on the prep, no rushing the grade, and quality sod that's built to last.
