Plymouth Pool Area Gets a Full Outdoor Living Upgrade

A pool is only as good as the space around it. That's the reality a lot of homeowners run into - the pool gets installed, and then the surrounding area becomes an afterthought. Cracked concrete, patchy grass, zero flow between zones. This Plymouth backyard had real potential, and the goal was simple: build a cohesive outdoor space that actually works for a busy family.

We used Unilock pavers throughout the patio area to create a clean, durable surface that wraps the pool and connects the different parts of the yard. The large-format paver pattern gives the whole space a polished, modern feel without being too formal. The back portion of the yard was converted to artificial turf, giving the kids a dedicated play area that stays green and clean all season long. No muddy patches, no watering, no mowing. It butts right up against the paver patio with a clean transition, so the yard feels intentional rather than pieced together. We also worked in landscaping along the perimeter - a row of columnar evergreens lines the black aluminum fence, giving the space some privacy and a clean backdrop without closing it off.

Low-voltage pathway lighting was installed throughout the patio, which means this space doesn't shut down at sunset. Raised planting beds near the house add a softer touch and break up what could otherwise feel like a sea of hardscape.
